The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with Domineum Blockchain Solutions, has announced the launch of the NITDA Blockchain Scholarship, 2023 Scheme. The program aims to train 30,000 Nigerians in blockchain technology in order to help them advance their careers in emerging technologies.

This scholarship opportunity is open to any Nigerian who wishes to learn blockchain digital skills. In order to continue providing massive employment opportunities through digital skills, NITDA has launched an ambitious project to train one million software developers in the country.
As a result, the NITDA Blockchain Scholarship (NBS) program will enable participants to gain new skills that will help them take their ventures to the next level. NITD.
Because blockchain technology is still in its early stages and heralds the fourth industrial revolution, Africa has an opportunity to bridge the technological gap with other continents by becoming early adopters and professionals in the blockchain industry.
The scholarship will help to “accelerate blockchain adoption in Nigeria and make Nigeria a global player in the blockchain industry,” according to Kashifu Inuwa CCIE, the Director General/CEO of NITDA, who announced the scheme on the Blockchain-day of “Digital Nigeria” event held on October 26th, 2022. He called on Nigerians to take advantage of the scholarship to become “early solution providers in the fourth industrial revolution”.
Domineum Blockchain Solutions is the scheme’s implementing partner, and BSV Blockchain Academy is the course content provider.
Reacting to the announcement, Mr. Mohammed Jega, the co-founder of Domineum reiterated its commitment to delivering “quality education and equipping participants with the skills to build real-life blockchain solutions”. Similarly, Calistus Igwilo, Domineum’s Course Coordinator and Country CTO, stated that “blockchain will power the next generation data, and the courses are carefully designed to equip participants with the right skills to become professionals and help shape the future of the blockchain industry.”

NITDA-Blockchain Scholarship Worth and Advantages
The program will be delivered in all of the Federation’s states via a hybrid mode (virtual and physical meetups). Outstanding teams in the project phase will be invited to join an incubation program in London, while others will be introduced to the BSV Ecosystem, where they will be able to participate in a variety of projects. The scholarship is available to any Nigerian who is willing to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, has access to a laptop or desktop computer, and demonstrates commitment and determination; no prior programming experience is required.
NITDA digital skills training
The National Center for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics (NCAIR), a subsidiary of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), is seeking applications to participate in the NITDA Developers Group (NDG) Training program.
The training is part of NITDA’s project to train one million developers in Nigeria, and the trainees will go through a series of coaching and lectures to develop programming skills in AI and Machine Learning. The training program’s first cohort will concentrate on Python for Machine Learning and Data Science.
