Schulich leader scholarship 2023 and 2024
The Schulich Leader Scholarships are Canada’s most coveted undergraduate STEM scholarships. One hundred are given to entrepreneurial high school graduates who enroll in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math program at one of Canada’s 20 partner universities. Half are worth $120,000 for engineering scholarships and half are worth $100,000* for science and math scholarships. Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student to apply for the scholarship each year.
How do you win the Schulich Leader Scholarship?
There are four main criteria to consider:
- Academic excellence (a GPA of 80-90% or higher is preferred)
- Leadership, charisma, and creativity are required.
- Entrepreneurial-minded.
- Pursuing a career in technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, or applied scientific research.

Is Schulich Leader Scholarship for international students?
Are you eligible? To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada who will graduate from a Canadian high school, secondary school, or CEGEP in the 2022/2023 academic year. Be nominated by your high school, secondary school, or CEGEP.
How does the Schulich scholarship work?
If you choose to study Engineering, your Schulich Leader Scholarship will be worth $120,000. You will receive $30,000 in annual payments over a four-year period. The awards are valued at $100,000 for STEM faculty members other than those in Engineering. You can expect $25,000 in annual payments over a four-year period.
Schulich Leader scholarship deadline
All letters of recommendation and scholarship applications must be completed and received by the February 21, 2023 deadline. Universities select Schulich Leader scholarship recipients based on their own criteria. All winners must be confirmed by June 15, 2023.
