The University of Warwick is a public research university on the outskirts of Coventry between the West Midlands and Warwickshire, England. The university was founded in 1965 as part of a government initiative to expand higher education.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:

To be considered for the University of Warwick Chancellors Scholarship, you must:

  • Apply for a PhD at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2025;
  • Be assessed as ‘overseas’ for fees purposes. There are no other nationality criteria;
  • Be from any discipline at Warwick.

Scholarships cannot be deferred to the next academic year.

Scholarship Application Guidelines:

To apply for the University of Warwick Chancellors International Scholarship, interested candidates should;

  1. Read the Applicant Guidance Notes and PGR Ranking Criteria
  2. Submit your course application and upload supporting documents.
  3. Receive an automated e-mail with a 7 digit applicant ID number. Please allow at least 48 hours for this to arrive.
  4. Register your ITS applicant account. Please note that the Doctoral College cannot help with issuing of ID numbers.
  5. Submit your scholarship application by the application deadline (now Closed). We regret being unable to accept late applications for any reason.
  6. Submit supporting documents by the supporting document deadline (TBA). We regret being unable to accept late supporting documents for any reason.
  7. Results of the Chancellor’s International Scholarship will be communicated by email by the start of March 2025.

Scholarship Benefits:

Awards made for entry in Autumn 2025 will include the following:

  • The full payment of tuition fees
  • A maintenance stipend paid at the prevailing UKRI rate (£19,795 per year) for 3.5 years
  • A Research, Training and Supporting Grant (RTSG) of £5,000.
  • For eligible scholars, the opportunity to apply for financial support towards the cost of immigration to the UK.
