University of Leicester applications for the 2025 ESPRC Scholarships are now open. The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) is the main funding body for engineering and physical sciences research in the UK.
EPSRC covers a vast range of fields from healthcare technologies to structural engineering, manufacturing to mathematics, advanced materials to chemistry. It is part of UK Research and Innovation, which works in partnership with universities, research organisations, businesses, charities, and government to create the best possible environment for research and innovation to flourish.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:
To be considered for the University of Leicester Scholarships, you must:
- hold, or expect to obtain, at least the equivalent of a UK first or upper-second-class degree in a relevant subject or overseas equivalent.
- meet the University of Leicester English language requirements
Scholarship Application Guidelines:
To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

- Personal statement explaining your interest in the project, your experience and why we should consider you
- Degree certificates and transcripts of study already completed and if possible transcript to date of study currently being undertaken
- Evidence of English language proficiency if applicable

The University of Leicester ESPRC Scholarships offer;
- 4 Year UK fee waiver
- 4 Year stipend at UKRI rates ( for 2024/5 this will be £19,237 pa. 2025/6 rates to be confirmed)
- RTSG is £8,500 total per project
