SCHOLARSHIP: Ohio State University, USA International Scholarship for Undergraduate Students
Ohio State University is providing Huntington International Fellowships to high-achieving candidates for the academic session 2024-2025. This scholarship is offered each spring semester.
The Huntington International Fellowship aims to support undergraduate humanities students interested in international business and world languages. The program allows students to spend an extended period abroad to enhance their language fluency, cultural understanding, and knowledge of international commerce. An academic component involving intermediate to advanced language study or coursework is required.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:
- Eligible Countries: USA
- Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for any subject offered by the university, with a focus on humanities, international business, and world languages.
- Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be sophomores or juniors at The Ohio State University at the time of application.
- Plan to travel by August 31st of the following calendar year.
- Have completed a minimum of two years (three semesters) of OSU world language study or its equivalent prior to the study abroad experience.
- Demonstrate a serious interest in, commitment to, and involvement in business, commerce, or industry.
- Study at Ohio State for at least one semester after the award trip completion.

Application requirements include:
- A letter of application addressed to “Huntington International Fellows, c/o Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures, The Ohio State University” containing a statement of purpose and a description of the proposed program.
- A detailed budget sheet.
- Two letters of recommendation (including at least one from a language professor).
- Please submit the application in PDF format to Rebecca Bias.
Personal Interviews: Required for finalists.
Program Coordination
Coordination and administration are provided by the OSU Center for Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. Working with The Huntington National Bank, the appropriate OSU world language department, the OSU Office of International Affairs, and others, applicants will identify programs in the target country that provide linguistic and academic advancement, as well as work or internship experiences in a commercial business environment. Courses and internships must be conducted in the target language. Preference is given to students studying at an advanced language level.
Scholarship Benefits:
Awards vary in amount and can be used to cover travel, tuition, and living costs, starting at $500.00.
