SCHOLARSHIP: Newcastle University, UK International Scholarship for Undergraduate | Postgraduate Students
The University of Newcastle is pleased to offer the ‘GO Global Scholarship’ to help support students from underrepresented groups to undertake a global placement in 2025.

Scholarship applications open on Wednesday 4 December 2024 and will close on Sunday 29 June 2025 (or until the funding is exhausted).

Scholarship eligibility requirements:
- Eligible Countries:
This scholarship is open to students from any country, provided they are currently enrolled at Newcastle University. - Acceptable Course or Subjects:
The scholarship can be applied to any subject offered by Newcastle University for global placements. - Admissible Criteria:
To be eligible for the GO Global Scholarship, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria: - Be a current student at Newcastle University (including final year students).
- Be receiving the NCL Opportunity Scholarship or have an annual household income under £40,000.
- Be a care leaver or have caring responsibilities.
- Be an estranged student, refugee, or asylum seeker.
- Be part of the Gypsy/Roma Travelling Community or Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups with your latest educational institution being UK state-funded.
Application Criteria:
Preference may be given to students whose degree programs do not already include a global placement, or those with limited international travel experience.
Scholarship Application Guidelines:
To apply for the GO Global Scholarship, students must complete an online application via the Terra Dotta, global placement system. This includes submitting a personal statement and meeting the eligibility requirements. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis, and students are encouraged to apply as early as possible to increase their chances of receiving funding.

Scholarship Benefits:
- £1,500 for EU placements, £2,000 for non-EU placements, and £500 for virtual placements.
- Financial support to help students participate in global placements outside the academic term.
