Scholarships for Students with Tourette Syndrome 2023/2024
Scholarships for Students with Tourette Syndrome
Although the Tourette Association of America doesn’t offer college scholarships, there are currently three scholarships available through other organizations that specifically cater to students with Tourette Syndrome (TS). It’s important to note that students with TS may also be affected by other conditions, so when searching for scholarships, it may be helpful to look for those that cover co-occurring conditions or have broader criteria.
For instance, there are scholarships for students with ADHD, as well as scholarships for students with learning disabilities like Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Dyslexia, and Auditory Processing Disorder, among others. Additionally, there are yearly scholarships that cover a wider range of disabilities. Below is a list of scholarship opportunities that are most relevant to the TS community, which you may want to explore. Click on the scholarship names for more information about them.

FAQ
How does Tourette syndrome affect the brain?
Scientists have found that Tourette’s is associated with various regions of the brain, such as the basal ganglia, which regulates bodily movements. It is believed that variances in this area can impact nerve cells and neurotransmitters that transmit messages between them. Researchers believe that abnormalities in this neural network could contribute to the development of Tourette’s.
