The NTU Doctoral School invites applications for fully funded PhD studentships under its Strategic Research Theme Studentship Competition for 2025.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:

To be considered for the Nottingham Trent University UK Scholarship, you must:

  • Be available to commence study on 1 October 2025.
  • Hold a first-class or upper second-class honors degree (or equivalent). Applicants with a lower second-class degree must have a Master’s degree at Merit level or higher.
  • Must not already hold a PhD or be enrolled in a doctoral program at NTU.
  • Meet the English Language proficiency requirements of the institution.
  • Submit all required documents and information by 14 February 2025.

Scholarship Application Guidelines:

To apply for the Nottingham Trent University Scholarship, interested and qualified candidates should;

  • first review the program’s academic and English language proficiency criteria. Additional details can be found in NTU’s Quality Handbook.
  • Visit NTU’s Strategic Research Theme Studentship 2025 page to browse available projects.
  • Once you’ve selected a project, click the “Apply now” button to access the online application form.
  • Create an NTU Admissions account and verify your email.
  • Complete the application form. The online form will prompt you to provide:
    • Personal details
    • Academic qualifications
    • Responses to standard competency questions
    • Contact information for two referees
  • Provide contact details for 2 referees who can provide references and they will be contacted directly by NTU. Ensure references are submitted by 3 April 2025.
  • Submit your application online before the deadline.

Scholarship Benefits:

The Nottingham Trent University Scholarships are fully funded studentships that cover;

  • Tuition
  • Living stipend of £19,237 per year (UKRI rate).
