SCHOLARSHIP: University of Leeds, UK International Scholarship for Postgraduate |Masters Students

The University of Leeds Ferguson Scholarship is a one-year fully funded scholarships for applicants from developing countries wishing to pursue full-time Taught Masters study in selected schools.
This scholarship is available for applicants applying for programmes of study related to economic, social or technological development (with the exception of the Leeds MBA) in the following schools:
- Earth and Environment
- Electronic and Electrical Engineering
- Biological Sciences
- Geography
- History
- Law
- Languages, Cultures and Societies
- Medicine
- Media and Communication
- Performance and Cultural Industries
- Physics and Astronomy
- Politics and International Studies
- Philosophy, Religion and History of Science
- Transport Studies
- Leeds University Business School.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:
To be considered for the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be from developing countries
- Be ready to undertake a one-year taught Master’s programme of study in selected Schools, with areas of study related to the economic, social or technological development of the applicant’s home country.
- must hold, or expect to hold by September 2026, a First Degree at undergraduate level equivalent to at least a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree.
- should either have graduated with the appropriate First Degree or be in their final year of study.
- Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the University’s English Language requirements by 2 February 2026.
- not have undertaken studies lasting one year or more in a developed country.
- be unable themselves, or through their families, to pay to study in the UK.
- These awards are only available to applicants who are liable to pay academic fees at the International fee rate.
Scholarship Application Guidelines:
To apply for the University of Leeds Ferguson Scholarship, interested and qualified candidates should;

- Apply for a relevant taught programme of study
- Be in receipt of a Student Application Number.
- Once you are in receipt of your Student Application ID please complete the online application form.
- Each School selects a shortlist of applicants who they wish to recommend for the award.
- The University of Leeds Scholarship Selection Panel then meets to consider the shortlists and select the successful applicants and reserves.
- Unsuccessful applicants can expect to be notified of the application outcome approximately 4 weeks after the application closing date.
- Shortlisted applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application within 10 weeks of the application closing date.
Scholarship Benefits:
The University of Leeds Ferguson Scholarship covers;
- tuition fees,
- maintenance of £17,500 per year
- return economy travel and other allowances.
