--ADVERTISEMENT--

The University of Illinois is for highly motivated PhD or MS students to join the Dr. Cory Suski research team in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences (NRES) at the University of Illinois.

The project aims to quantify the impacts of different stressors on fish populations.  We anticipate graduate opportunities for 1-2 different research projects related to;

  • (1) impacts of angling on individual fish, or
  • (2) fish passage around lock and dam structures in large rivers.  Work will consist of both laboratory experiments and field studies, and will involve both behavioral and physiological responses.

Projects will be conducted in collaboration with several state, federal and industry partners.  Results will inform policy on conservation practices to enhance and protect freshwater fisheries.
