SCHOLARSHIP: University of Exeter, UK International Scholarship for Postgraduate | Masters Students

The University of Exeter is offering one‘Green Futures’ Postgraduate Taught Scholarship for study on one of our eligible Masters programmes in 2025/26.
Applications are invited from exceptional international candidates who would otherwise be unable to pursue their sustainability academic and career goals and who will increase our University community’s diversity and inclusion.
About university:
The University of Exeter is a research university in the West Country of England, with its main campus in Exeter, Devon. Its predecessor institutions, St Luke’s College, Exeter School of Science, Exeter School of Art, and the Camborne School of Mines were established in 1838, 1855, 1863, and 1888 respectively. These institutions later formed the University of Exeter after receiving its royal charter in 1955.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:
To be considered for the University of Exeter Scholarship, you:
- are classified as an International student for fees purposes;
- are a citizen/passport holder of a Low or Lower Middle Income Country (eligible countries appear in the first three columns of the table here);
- already hold an offer to study an eligible Masters programme from the table above at the University of Exeter in the 2025/26 academic year (September 2025 entry);
- have achieved, or expect to achieve, the equivalent of a UK first in your undergraduate degree (see our Entry Requirements pages for further guidance); and
- have not previously studied or worked in a High Income country.

The Scholarship is available for the following one-year, full-time, campus-based Postgraduate taught degrees in our Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy:

- MSc Geographical Information Science
- MSc Global Sustainability Solutions
- MSc Marine and Coastal Sustainability
- MSc Mining Environmental Management
- MSc Renewable Energy Engineering
- MSc Sustainable Business Management (including Environment and Tourism pathways)
- MSc Sustainable Development
- MSc Weather and Climate Science

- A personal statement (500 word maximum) is required as part of the form, responding to the following questions:

- How have you pursued this interest so far – as an individual and with others – in support of your home country’s development efforts/sustainable initiatives and projects?
- What are you hoping to gain and to contribute during your study at the University of Exeter and how will a Green Futures Scholarship support this?
- What are your ambitions for after you graduate and how will you stay connected to the University of Exeter?
