The Clemson University Graduate Scholarship offers a fully funded graduate opportunity for intending Masters and Doctoral students to study in the United States.

The Clemson University Graduate Scholarship is a multidisciplinary research program advised by a team comprised of Dr. Christophe Darnault (Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences), Dr. Brunela Rodrigues (Wood Utilization and Biomaterials), Dr. Michael Stoner (Civil Engineering), and Dr. Jim Anderson (James C. Kennedy Waterfowl and Wetlands Conservation Center).

Clemson University is a public land-grant research university near Clemson, South Carolina, United States. Founded in 1889, Clemson is the second-largest university by enrollment in South Carolina. For the fall 2023 semester, the university enrolled a total of 22,875 undergraduate students and 5,872 graduate students, and the student/faculty ratio was 15:1.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:

To be considered for the Clemson University Scholarship, you must:

  • Possess a B.S. (for M.S.) and M.S. (for Ph.D.) in Environmental or Civil Engineering,
    Materials Science, Wood Science, Forest Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
  • Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00. A strong interest and experience in engineering design, material science, and design software is crucial. Interest in environmental sustainability, historic preservation, wetlands, statistics, and publishing is a plus.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.

  • a letter of interest, resume,
  • a <1,000-word statement of purpose (why do you want to work on this project, your research interests, and long-term career goals),
  • unofficial copy of transcripts,
  • GRE/TOEFL scores (if available),
  • proof of valid drivers license,
  • examples of published papers, and
  • contact information for 3 references.

Scholarship Benefits:

The Clemson University Graduate Scholarship comes with;

  • a full tuition waiver
  • a living stipend of $25,000 (for PhD), and $22,000 for BSc.
