SCHOLARSHIP: California State, USA International Scholarship for Postgraduate | Masters Students
California State University Scholarship: Applications for graduate study to the Master’s Degree program in Biology at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) are invited for students interested in an interdisciplinary project in marine ecology/aquaculture and the social sciences.
The project aims to apply principles of ecological resilience for use in marine macroalgal aquaculture systems to evaluate their potential to build capacity for resilience in the surrounding local ecosystem and to create opportunities and enrichment for under-represented groups, thereby enhancing the resilience of the local socioeconomic coastal community.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:
Ideally, the California State University Scholarship candidate students will have interests in;
- marine ecology and aquaculture,
- collaborating with a team of interdisciplinary scientists at CSUN (Drs. Janet K’bler, Steve Dudgeon, Andrew Ainsworth, Scott Applerouth) in marine ecology, molecular biology, and the social sciences,
- working with diverse groups of people, and
- good quantitative skills (or desire to develop them).
- American Association of Underwater Scientists (AAUS) SCUBA diving certification, or willingness to acquire certification, is required.
- Willingness to develop skills in molecular biology and field ecology is highly desirable.

- also apply to the CSUN Graduate program in Biology by the February 15, 2025 application deadline.
- Applicants for graduate study must apply separately to both the Graduate School at CSUN and the CSUN Graduate program in the Department of Biology.
Scholarship Benefits:
The graduate student selected for the California State University Scholarship will be supported by a funded Graduate Research Assistantship position for 2 years at $22,500 per year plus a 1-year tuition waiver.
