The University of Leicester Undergraduate Scholarship is an international tuition fee discount award to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement.

The University of Leicester is a public research university based in Leicester, England. The main campus is south of the city centre, adjacent to Victoria Park. The university’s predecessor, University College, Leicester, gained university status in 1957.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:
To be considered for the University of Leicester Undergraduate Merit Scholarship,
- You must be starting a full-time undergraduate programme* at the University of Leicester, UK campus commencing in September 2026 for year one, two or three of your undergraduate programme for a maximum of three years.
- You must have made Leicester your ‘firm choice’ by 30 June 2026 (if you have applied through UCAS you will need to reply by your UCAS reply deadline, which may be earlier than this date).
- You should achieve the equivalent to two grades above the standard A-level entry requirement.**
- All conditions of your offer must be met by 20 August 2026.
- You must be classed as an international student for fee purposes.
* Excluding Medicine, LLB Maitrise, STEM International Foundation, ‘International Year 1’ courses and for programmes that exceed three years in duration.

To be considered, you need to create a short video (no more than two minutes) which answers these three questions:

- How will your chosen degree help you achieve this?
- How will you contribute to the University community while you’re here?

Videos should be submitted as a link to Google Drive, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Wechat Video or Douyin in the section indicated in the application form.
Scholarship Benefits:
The Scholarship is a full tuition fee waiver that will be awarded to 30 international fee-paying undergraduate students starting an undergraduate programme in September 2026.
